Offy is the Summer champ

 5th September 2020

Hampton Springs - Willow

A few members were away on the Eggy Ferry weekend but there was still a great turnout with 15 members and a guest.

The match was taken out by Grahame Offlands from peg 5 with 79-04 of Carp and a few barbel. He's caught fishing maggots in 18 inches down both edges. His match win also meant he won the Summer knockout cup beating Paul McColgan in the final.

In the second section Carl Harrison took the win from bridge peg 9. Despite spending most of the day pinging feeders into the bridge, he managed to hit the water enough times to put 36-02 on the scales and deny Paul Edwards on golden peg 13.

The third section was taken by guest, Mike Cox. His 38lb was enough for second place in the match. Mike is hoping to join as a member next year and it looks like we might have another dark horse.

The final section was won by the man in form and serial section winner Neal Howard. From bridge peg 27, his 30lb was just enough to hold off the challengers in his section. By his own admission the margins were solid and he lost more than he landed. However, his 3 carp and 5 barbel were enough to get him over the line.

There was more pain for Keith as he slipped to a 7-0 deficit in his battle with Dennis. Surely he's not going to get a tin hatting?
