West side!

Blundell's - East and West

1st August 2020

So, another disappointing, and probably the clubs last outing to Blundell's. The majority of weights were quite low.

The first section on East was taken by Rob Jones with 25-08 from Peg 5. Rob has caught skimmers and F1's in the deep water at 11 meters followed by a couple of carp from the margins on worm.

The next section was taken by Lez Smith with a level 16 pound from peg 7.

The final section on East, and second place overall, was taken by Grahame Offlands with 44lb from peg 19. Making the most of the room on the end of the lake he's caught on hard pellet over micros at 8 meters down the left edge.

Over on West and the weights were a bit better. The first section and the match was taken by Tony Wilson with 61-14. After struggling most of the day he's had a late run of decent carp fishing maggot on a top kit. In doing so he stopped Keith from winning the golden peg which rolls over again and will now be worth over £100 on the next match.

At the end of the match Keith was searching for his towel and decided Bob had stolen it. He later found it round his waist, under his bib and brace, because he's old and demented.

Just when Keith thought his day couldn't get any worse, Dennis Clayton won his section and third place overall with 41-10 of carp caught on maggot shallow at 9m. Dennis now leads the Den v Keith cahllenge 5-0.

The final section was taken by Neal Howard. After a hard fought battle with Col Roe, Neal's 20lb was enough to just pip Col by a pound. Neal has spent the day drinking lager and eventually decided to catch some fish too. Carp short on maggot was the winning method.

The journey home proved eventful when travelling down the motorway Bob's roof rack decided to split in half and part company with the van. They realised as the ladders came swinging past them in the next lane. Never a dull moment with the SAS.
