It's 6:43am and you've already fucked it up!

Bradshaw Hall - Pool 3
7th March 2020

A first visit for the club and the first match run by new club captain Dave Edwards. With the curry wagon off the road for a change, Dave was picked up by Bob and we were all meeting at the petrol station at 7am to head off in convoy. On the way there Dave realised he hadn't brought 'the folder of eternal captaincy' and thus had none of the required paperwork. This lead Bob to exclaim "It's 6:43am and you've already fucked it up!"

This set out the theme for the day with the match starting without anyone knowing who was in their section or who they'd drawn in the Winter knockout cup.

The stress of running the match left Dave unable to catch any fish and he finished a lowly 12th, lost his section, got knocked out of the cup and dropped his phone in the lake. Long may it continue.

In first place was Tony Wilson with 46-12. After picking up a carp and a couple of F1's on soft pellet at 13m the wind made presentation too difficult. A switch to maggot short produced a bite a chuck for a nice mixed bag of tench, barbel, ide and roach.

In second place and winning his section was new member Rob Jones. Switching between maggot on the pole and a hybrid feeder to the island he caught 40lb of f1's and silvers. He's going to be a bit of a dark horse this year.

In third place was Col Roe. Fishing soft pellet on the pole resulted in a bag of almost all F1's. His 29-06 would have been more but he also struggled with presentation once the wind got up.

There were also section wins for Paul Mc who caught 15-04 of silvers and F1's at 11m on maggot and Neal with 13-08 who used a method to the island with groundbait and pellet for F1's.

Through to the quarter finals of the winter knockout cup are Carl, Offy, Den C, Col Roe, Neal, Tony, Rob Jones and Richie.

1st. Tony Wilson 46-12
2nd. Rob Jones 40-00
3rd. Col Roe 29-06
