Ton up for the Chimp

Weston Pools - Stretton & Jack's
6th July 2019

Back to Weston Pools in Oswestry for the first of two club matches there this month. With just one member missing and a guest in attendance we had 21 anglers spread over two lakes with 14 on Stretton and 7 on Jack's.

There were some cracking weights on Stretton. The four anglers in the first section caught over 300lb between them. The section was taken by Richie Williams with his new PB of 101-04. He fished shallow under an overhanging tree at 8 metres and caught carp to 10lb and some F1's.

Welcome to the ton club, there'll be plenty more to follow.

The second section of four anglers also cleared 300lb between them. The victory belonged to John Rogers who caught 102-06 from peg 17. He fished short on the deck and shallow a bit further out, all on pellet. This was also the golden peg which had rolled over. Some people!

Section 3 was taken by Dennis Clayton with 52-08 and he also beat Keith to move 4-1 ahead in the 'fat manc v beardy weirdy' challenge.

The final section on Stretton and the match overall was won by Col Cook with 107-06 including 36lb of small Crucians. Sounds like a busy day. Who asked him to join? We might have to start giving him a handicap.

Over on Jacks and the fishing wasn't as good with some of the usual flyers not producing. Taking the first section was Tony Wilson with a level 70lb from peg 13. After a slow start he's caught later in the match shallow at 16m to the Willows.
On peg 17 Paul Edwards took the final section with 33lb.

1st - Col Cook 107-06
2nd - Bucko 102-06
3rd - Richie 101-04 (PB)

It was also the first round of the Summer knockout cup. The results have their own page above.
