Holmston Hall
Woodland & Moat
This month saw the club fish a new venue in Holmston Hall after some of the lads had been up there pleasure fishing and caught some huge weights.
Split across two lakes there were 16 members fishing.
On Moat pool having a ding dong battle were Chris Roe and Dave Edwards. Chris was going dong, Dave was going ding, ding £2.99.
After 5 hours of battle Chris managed to come out on top by just 6oz's. Weighing 43-12 to take both the section and the match.
Dave fought hard but came up just short, his 43-06 enough to win his section. A good effort despite moaning all day long about having too many fish in the peg, while the rest of us played games on our phones. Second place enough to take him back to the top of the league.
The lake had fished surprisingly badly and the other sections were taken by Tony Wilson 17-02 and Paul Edwards 25-00. That was also enough for Paul to win the Summer knockout cup final and pick up his first silverware with the club. Im sure there will be more to follow as he's all but sewn up division two this year too.
Over on Woodland Pool Norman Smith managed to win the lake and take 3rd overall with 31-06. Again the lake hasn't fished as well as expected but the old goat found a few big carp on the short pole.
Dennis kept his hopes of catching Keith alive. He beat him to make the score 6-3 to Keith with just 3 matches left. He also managed to finish the match with the same amount of carbon he started with.
All in all it was disappointing that such a good fishery didn't respond well to being match fished.
