Tunnel Barn Farm
Extension Pool
After a few too many beers the night before 14 bears with sore heads descended on Extension pool. This lake has been throwing up some huge weights recently so expectations were high.
This turned out to be the best match the club has ever had by a country mile, with no less than 8 anglers breaking their PB.
Taking first place on the day was Tony Wilson. After moaning about his peg being too narrow, in the shade all day and the opposite end to the form pegs, he manged to catch 171lb 08oz of F1's and carp to prove you never know a pegs potential until you've fished it. He caught in the left hand margin in 2ft on pellet and shallow at 6m on pellet.
With Churchy adding 58lb 10oz on the feeder it was enough to give them victory in the overall pairs weights too.
In second place again was Dave Edwards with 130lb 12oz of mainly F1's caught in the edges. He's fished expander over micro's and by switching between left and right hand edges has managed to keep fish coming all day. With his partner Bob O'Neill adding 37-04 it was enough to keep them in second overall.
In third place on the day was Dennis Clayton with an incredible 127-04 to blow his PB out of the water, fishing pellet on a top kit and proving you just need to do the simple things well on these venues.
Somehow 119lb 14oz was only good enough for 4th place. Chris Roe didn't have any shallow water in the edge and was forced to fish shallow. Switching between a long and short line he's caught for most of the day. With his partner Keith Howard adding 51lb 12oz they had done enough to be the 3rd placed pair overall.
There were too many great performances to mention so here's everyone with their catches.
Richie Williams 37-10
Churchy 58-10 PB
Dave Edwards 130-12 PB
Bob O'Neill 37-04
Neal Howard 64-04 PB
Colin Roe 69-00 PB
Paul Edwards 78-12 PB
Graham Offlands 55-00 PB
Lez Smith 19-00
Dennis Clayton 127-04 PB
Norman Smith 89-04
Tony Wilson 171-08 PB
Keith Howard 51-12
Chris Roe 119-14
