3rd November 2018
This month the club paid their last visit of 2018 to Weston Pools with 14 anglers on the Canal Pool. With the temperature dropping but not quite in winter mode, we didn't quite know what to expect.
On arrival it was obvious it was going to be tough. The colour had completely dropped out and it was gin clear.
A combination of an end peg, the wind blowing in and Dave Edwards isn't something you see every day. Twice a week ain't bad though.
He caught towards the pads at 13m before the wind got too strong to hold the pole. He's then switched to short lines and caught on expander over micro's for the rest of the match. A weight of 65-12 was enough to win the section and the match.

The second section saw Keith Howard take the honours from peg 20. He caught some chunky F1's throughout the day, his 34-02 enough for 4th place overall dispite losing more than a few at the net.
The third section and third place was taken by Chris Roe with 36-12. Fishing expander and micro's towards the pads, before dropping back short on maggots, he's had a mixed bag of F1's and silvers.
In the same section, a weight of 18-10 was enough for Paul McColgan to take top spot in Division 2

The final section was taken by Tony Wilson from peg 2 with 48-04. He's caught F1's on soft pellet at 13m under the trees and snared a last minute lump on the all out.
Some good weights considering the time of year and how clear the water was.
With one match still to fish Paul Edwards and Carl Harrison are confirmed as promoted to Division one for next year. Going in the opposite direction is John Rogers and at least one other. There are still 4 people who could join him.
Division one and the main league will be decided on the final match at Holmston Hall with Tony Wilson and Dave Edwards still battling it out for top spot.
